Scenario; Using an IR-Pro to capture codes for a new S.Atlanta Explorer 8300HDC DVR
cable box which took all of the codes at 57.7 KHz (repeats set for 1, and checked for sustain). I had trouble with performance with only the number "2". I re-learned the code several times (making sure I was in a very low light level area while capturing) and still have a problem. The work around I used, was placing a .2 sec delay in front of every "2" command for all of my preset channels with icons.
Is this something we all experience as "work-arounds"?

Is there some other tell tail sign when capturing codes and reviewing what the IR-pro captures that I should look for?

Am I becoming a "hack" for such small crutches in my work (or is this the unspoken norm that none of us talk about)?

I've been programming for about 12 months (about 9 RTi remotes, installing jobs for 7 years) and love the design work, challenges, and working through problems (Installing for about 8 years and had to bring the programming in house).

P.S. Hardware
T2-C remote
RP-6 processor
(using ir leads that come with RP-6)
Xantech single head emitters

Try just tapping the button when you learn it instead of press and hold.

All the SA codes are already in the master lib.
