Hi,

I just received a .ccf file from Vidikron. The tech said that there was some software that pronto had that could convert the commands in this file to hex codes.

I have looked for about 30 minutes and can't seem to find anything.

If any one knows how to do this, could you share the steps with me?

Or if any one has the descrete IR codes for a VP-50 that would be great as well.

We are using a T3.

Thanks a ton,

Mnbasser

you will need the correct pronto program to open the files you have, then you will have to open each button to get the hex code, hopefully its in the right format....starts with a 0000, then you will need to copy the hex and paste into theatertouch program

will take awhile if you have never done it, if you have it still takes time but its a tad quicker

if you have a pronto remote, you could load it then teach to the IRPRO also

Do you mean VP-5000 plasma? I do have an RTI file that I learned, as the CCF that Vidikron sent me would not work.

It IS a .ccf, not a .pcf, right? Go to the Files Section, Classic Pronto Section, and look for original programming software. You want ProntoEdit4. It's got a learning curve, but read the FAQs and ask questions in the Classic Pronto Forum.

After you load the program, reboot your computer.

What you do once you have the program installed is to open the ccf, go to a panel that has commands you want, double click on the command, then double click on the command as it appears in the Edit Window. You'll get another Window with "View" at the bottom; click "View" and the hex code appears. Copy and paste into an RTI file. I use a TS1000 to capture codes all the time and do this a lot as the Pronto TS1000 is the best learner I've ever seen, equalled by the RTI learner. Okay, so they're both the best. But with a Pronto, it is SO easy to learn ten codes and then try them out. That's real hard to do with the RTI learner.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Hi Greg,

I wish, no it is an older VP-50. The Customer just added a Wi and I was trying to get discrete input codes. Although, I wonder if the VP-5000 would work. The tech at Vidikron said I needed the 50 codes.

Thanks for the help everyone. I think I'll try the pronto soft ware, hopefully it won't take too long.

If you want to send me the .ccf, I can pull them out in just a few minutes and plug them into an RTI .cml file.

BTW...

you can use this to view the contents of a ccf without running pronto edit... including the hex code strings.

[Link: remotecentral.com]

You can open it with excel for a different look. The only bummer is that the code does not exist in a cell by itself for quick copy-n-paste, however, it would not take much to write an excel macro that would extract the extra text from the cell containming the code and dump it on another worksheet.

I can not remember... it may or may not require an associate .dll file that is also available in the downloads section.
