I am programming my first Multi-remote/processor system. I have a Bedroom withca T2C & RP1, a den with a T2C & RP1, and a theater with a T2C & RP1.

My question is how do I tell the bedroom remote to only communicate witht the bedroom RP1 and so on for the Den, Theater, etc.

Is it just the IR frequency in the remote properties? How much change is effective (1 mhz, 5 mhz. etc.) so there is no crosstalk? All rooms are within range of each other and all three have the same model AVR, DVD, VCR, and cable box.

Start your file with the T2-C for the Bedroom then go to the menu bar and select add device choose RP-1 name the 1st RP-1 Bedroom (2.) Right click on the bedroom T2-C select properties, select the output tab, located in the device properties where it says default system choose bedroom; repeat steps for each additional remote and RP-1.

Another option is create 3 seperate programs and change ID codes for each system

to do this open the program for the system then click file, system properties, then the zone tab, make each system its own ID 0-255

do this on each system

then you now have 3 seperate systems with no crosstalk

I have had great luck keeping everything in one file and just setting each remote to speak with each respective processor. I assume you use seperate files because you ran into an issue, what was this??

No Issues, just quicker for IR routing and such

Just seems simpler to create a file for each system, then there is no confusion for signal routing, troubleshooting issues, and not accidently loading wrong file into the wrong remote or processor

Just the way i have done it, If I were cross communicating systems like all off or tied into a lighting system or such I would place them all in 1 file, Most of my systems have been single room systems anyway and then added another system control so it was easier to adding a new file instead of adding to an existing file

question:

I have 2 systems in the same house, one for HT, one for whole house: each has a separate program and ID code

yet when I operate some remotes, the activity light on both processors lights up

is this normal?

more: have T2C's in both systems: the T2C's make both processor activity lights go on: a T4 does not make the other processors light go on

[both systems otherwise work fine ]

I will be keeping the whole system in one file.

The remote properties/output tab gives the option of changing the frequency, should I leave them all the same and just assign the appropriate processor?

That is NOT the System Zone Code. That is the carrier frequency for IR trigger codes when using IR receivers into processors.
If you want to change the Systems Zone Code, go to the File menu/System Properties. These codes allow multiple systems (with individual system files) to work in proximity of each other without communicating to each other.

I guess that doesn't matter to me because this is all RF except the bedroom and den TVs will be standalone IR.

Yes this is normal, in fact, if you watch an RM433 or an RP-6 for a while, you will notice they blink on their own due to stray RF emissions, from time to time
