Not real likely on an LCD. I know the larger (plasma) ones will respond to LG commands, it's worth a shot!

If there aren't any discretes, I just need a way to get the input to cable (pressing the #'s 1-9 don't seem to work) so I can then have a "starting" point for my input macro.....any suggestions much appreciated

If there aren't any discretes and a channel # doesn't take you back to tuner, you are pretty much SOL!

If you turn it off, does it go back to same input?

Your best bet is probably to buy a switcher and screw trying to switch inputs on tv. You still have to deal with lack of discrete powers, but that has some options. It involves a RP6 with cost more than the TV probably.

What exactly are the problems you're running into? Are you doing that because you want to go to input 7? Why seven times? Does this always, or did you just use the number seven out of frustration?

Most brands will take you to the last selected antenna input if you hit channel up or down. The thing to do is to go to some input other than the one you want and test every button on the remote to see if one will do it. Some TVs go to certain inputs by hitting INPUT then a number, and zero would be for cable.

That's all I can think of.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
