The optical cable housing (small piece which fits the cable) on my Escient DVDM-100 fell out and it's gone. Anyone know if this can be replaced? Esceint told me to contact an electronics store but I had no luck. Anyone know of where to go for something like this?

Thanks

If I understand you correctly? Get a junk device from value village or some other "good will" type place for $5.00 and scavenge the parts you need from that

Have to hope it is a generic connector, because if it is made specifically for this Escient piece, value village or Goodwill won't be of any help.

Non-repair folks think all parts are interchangeable. Repair guys know how aggravating it is when manufacturers use non-generic parts and then only sell the whole board when you just need the 25 cent part.

Escient should be your supplier if something generic won't work.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Thanks Tom. Escient actually told me to check "best buy" or an electronic store. Hilarious.
