I read in the HT forum that RTI will be releasing an IR-only cheaper version of the T2. Can RTI confirm this and what is the expected release date? While I intend to get the RF model, I think a lot of people would go for a cheaper IR-only version that would not have considered it otherwise.

As far as I know RTI is building a special IR-only version of the remote for Etronixs. An upgrade to support RF control (and thus the whole control module/power sensor setup) will be $200, the same amount that the IR version has been reduced in cost from the IR/RF version.

We should be shipping the IR remote's by the the last week of May or maybe a little sooner. We do have your Pre-order on file and will let you know the minute they hit our door. Yes we will fulfill all preorder's plus much more.

I don't think you will find the RTI remote discounted too much due to all of the great features it will have and the fantastic software for it. The price we have for the T2 IR remote is a very good price, plus if you don't need the "RF" option you won't have to layout all of that cash for it at once. But the great part, one day you may need that "RF" feature and you will be able to upgrade your current remote. There's not to many company's out there making remotes that give you that option. I feel once you have read Daniel's review of the new RTI remote control and read some other postings in the forums you will find the price very reasonable.
