I'm selling my T2+ which is only a year old and in good condition. Selling for $250 shipping included to the 48 states. I'm an authorized RTI dealer and can program the remote, if needed, for $100. I will except paypal or check. PM me or email me at [email protected]

This sounds like it deserves a note to RTI. I understand from RTI that if a dealer sells an RTI unit on ebay, he might be in trouble, even if it's his old one. And that no warranty would apply. I wonder how they'd treat this situation. I got an email from them about this within the last couple of days.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Please don't take this insultingly, but how is it that RTI can actually decide what a person does with something they have bought. I understand not selling to the consumers, but once they own the hardware they own the hardware. Is it only a problem because he appears to be a dealer?

I think it's a judgment call more than anything - this guy owns the unit - it is a year old for god's sake and used - and not to mention will soon be considered "Old RTI technology". I don't think this warrants any type of repercussion - If I had a T2+ laying around for a year I would sell it too...

No insult taken. It's a damn reasonable question. I think they are overdoing their position because they let their previous products become devalued while opening their phone lines to myriad calls from people who didn't understand how to program them. They really want to avoid that. And yeah, because it looks like he's a dealer. I was about to write because he IS a dealer but I don't actually know that, so yeah, that's the issue. They don't want dealers making quick bucks and causing problems for them both with the rest of us and with their help lines.

As far as I know RTI doesn't want there stuff sold NEW on EBay, Nor do I.

I have seen several people sell their old T3 remotes here, and no one had a problem with it. Why is it now an issue?

He is selling USED equipment. RTI can't do a thing about it... nor should they.

Even if it is a unit that he purchased through accomodations or with his "bucks". If he has had it for a full year, he is breaking no rules.

Basically he is selling a remote with no warranty and no support from the manufacturer. That is RTI's right!!

what is RTI's right? the warranty is up after a year and I've owned the remote for over a year. When people sell almost anything used its without a warranty.
