Hi guys, first time poster. I work as a RTI and URC programmer for a local audio/video shop. I'm fairly fluent in Universal Remote Control's interface and IR drag and drop; but I am just starting on RS232 stuff. I have a bit of experience in it, but I struggle sometimes.

I'm actually programming our K4 wall panel for the demo theater and am stuck on the lens for the C3XE. We have the Projector, RP6 and the K4. I need to be able to switch back and forth between anamorphic and letterbox via 232. Anyone have any suggestions or tips? Thanks in advance.

Well, after some tweaking and playing around, I figured out that I could change the aspect of the projector step by step, but not by punching in the desired aspect. By inputting the "Aspect" code - the projector brings up a menu where you can cycle through all of the available modes. This however, is not how I want to do this.

I want to activate a macro when I push the button I have mapped to the DVD control page that switches the mode to Letterbox; and when I push Satellite, I want the C3XE to switch to Anamorphic.

I'm going to keep working on getting it to work - any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated. If I get it working, I'll be sure to let you know how I did it.

This should help. I haven't tested the IR commands on the C3X, we've always used RS232. They do however work for previous single chip models. Both RS232 and IR hex are from Sim2 tech documents.

RS232C(HEX format)
Anamorphic: BE EF 02 06 00 9D F5 84 01 00 00 00 00

Letterbox: BE EF 02 06 00 4C F4 85 01 00 00 00 00

IR
Anamorphic: 0000 006b 0000 0012 005d 006c 002f 002e 002f 002e 002f

Hey, thanks alot. Unfortunately, I tried those already :/

I did, however, come up with a solution that I think will work for the time being.

I used the standard "Aspect" code first in the macro then followed up with a corresponding numeral. The "Aspect" code brought up the box where you could cycle through, and each one of the modes has a number next to it. With a 0.2 second delay, it works like a charm. Although sometimes, not often, the command confuses the projector and switches to a different input. I feel that increasing the delay time might solve that.

Thanks again.

I may of misunderstood whether you are using an IR emitter or RS232 connection. If you are using an RP-6 and CM232i the RS232 codes are direct commands for the specific aspect ratios with no possibility of changing the input on accident.
