I bought an RTI T2 plus, and will be using it with 3 systems. How long should it take to program it?

Are you a dealer?

No, I'm a novice. I bought a new home theater system, stereo and entertainment center, and just need to know about how long it should take to program the RTI Remote.

OK, how long should it take for a dealer to program the remote for my home theater system, DVD player and cable box.

Shouldn't be longer than a couple days worth of time - for a dealer that is.

You are going to use the remote for 3 systems?? or 3 devices?? Are you going to have a RP-1 or RP-6 on any of these systems?? or system??

As a do it yourself'r you will need the software, IR learner and cables to program it, total time for 3 devices couold be as quick as an hour or two, the seperate systems could take a couple days depending on whats in each system

I just did a 2 room system for a client and he and his wife now fight over the remote, he wants to watch news in the office but she wants to listen to music in the living room, she wants to remote to adjust volume, he wants the remote so he can change channels....then they asked if we could duplicate the remote from the theater so either remote could control any room at any time, its possible but told them it would be less to add a 3rd remote for the living room than reprogram two systems as 1 system and redo most of the programming for the 2 they have

new remote was ordered today
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

It kind of sounds to me like he might be questioning his dealers bid/estimate...

Either way, we need more info. It could be done in 20 minutes or in 6 hours... Depends on a lot of things.

When you say three systems what do you mean, 3 rooms of equpment? Your dealer could take 30 minutes and program it like #(#*, or he can do a good job and give it to you a week later. It's very difficult to guage how long something will take because of other factors (dealer's workload, programming backlog, priority, etc).

You need to explain your system a little better and what you expect of the remote before you can get a reasonable time estimate.
