Sometimes I can't figure out something untill I see an example. I want to have a Nuvo Grand Concerto send a ir code to the RP6 and trigger a macro. I would rather use RS232 than relying on the Nuvo macro. Even though I have install a few Grand Concerto systems and think they are pretty cool. I think that I have to go into the properties and assign ir trigger codes but then what.

I think the RTI software creates the trigger code. Mr. Nuvo would have to learn it or accept it with cut and paste.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

So then you create a button and assign a IR code and a macro. Edit the properties so that the ir code will initiate the macro? Sorry just can't see it.

Open the RP6 in TTD and select (highlight) the macro you want to generate the code for.
From the menu select Device>Generate IR Trigger Codes>Copy HEX data for currently selected macro.
Now you can paste the HEX data into the location of your choice. If the Nuvo doesn't accept HEX data this way, you could >Create new T2+ with codes. Download into a T2+, and teach the code the old fashioned way.
:)

I haven't gotten into the Grand Concerto far enough to need to even use remotes! Where would the command reside? In the Grand Concerto remote? Taught to it? I don't see this aspect of it at all.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I have a CD changer and the Nuvo keypad will do the basic commands (play, pause, next, ect). It can also do macros but it's always tuff trying to get customers to remember how to get to the macro area(not very difficult?).

When play is pressed on the keypad it will initate a DVD power on and play. I would just rather relay on the RP6 vs. the Nuvo system. There also has a U1 controlling the outside zone so I'm just using the same macros/commands.

I now understand that when you create a system macro, go and select generate trigger codes, it gives a code for each macro(didn't know that before).

One thing I'm trying to get over is how far I take things for customers. A lot of times you spend extra time making things do more and they don't know the difference.
