I think I may just be missing something simple since this is my first time trying this...

two issues:

1. Just trying to set up an weather page feature. Push a button and the browser turns on and goes to a weather.com page that show the weather in this zip code.

The odd thing is that the weather.com page opens for about 5 secs and then the RTI home page replaces it.
I changed the properties of both the RK3 and the page to have [Link: weather.com] as the home page.

2. On my hard button page flip assignments for the "house" button I have assigned all pages to return to my main source screen, page 2. The problem is when I'm on a web browsing page or Escient fp-1 control page, the "house" button becomes inactive and does NOT return me to the source page. .... then I'm stuck on the browser page till I reset or reload the rk3.

I'm hope I'm just making some stupid rookie mistake that you guys can clue me in on.

1. Try taking off the /rti - not sure why it is there. Just use the webpage as it would appear in any browser. I currently use [Link: xhtml.weather.com] thanks to galileo01 on this forum.

2. Is your house (or 'home') button set to global?

Tom, thanks for trying to help.

1.... either way with or without /rti at the end ....in page AND rk3 properties ....it still goes to rti page then weather page then back to rti page. Even in my escient application it flashes to rti page before connection to Fp-1

2. I don't have it global at this point. but It is manually set on each page to flip to page 2.....tried on global to be sure...same thing happens either way. works on every page except when there is a network page in use, weather and escient.

RK3 has latest firmware update

Reboot? (reset button upper right with cover off)

Cold boot? (remove power for 10 seconds)

Weird? (yep)

Did you go into Device / Properties and change the home page to weather.com in the browser tab?

The default is set to www.rticorp.com, I had to do the same thing on the T4 file.

On the RK3 you assign one url to a page, and link to that page from a button or from within a macro. Is there any page linking in a macro or on a button that may be causing this? I had inadvertently done this one time, with a page link in the macro, but forgot to remove the page link from the button.

I really appreciate all you guys trying to help me out with this......

I created a stripped down version of the program ....just graphics, button page assigns, IP addressing, audio files ... no macros, no ir codes, no rs232.

Loaded the stripped down version in and got the same response with both issues.

i could email the file .

This might sound silly but whenever I run into weird problems with RTI remotes the first thing I do is make sure everything has the latest firmware and then reload the remote and RP6/RP1.

Have you tried emulating it and seeing what happens? If you want to send me the program I'll play with it and see if I can help. [email protected]
Who says you can't put 61" plasmas up on cantilever mounts using toggle bolts? <---Thanks Ernie ;)

I'd gladly take a look at it, too. Always enjoy a good mystery....

Well I FINALLY figured it out...both issues were caused by the same thing, and it was something simple.

There were multiple internet browser pages layered on top of each other.
So even though I had change the home page for the top layer.... the hidden bottom layers were still set to default rti address. The odd part was that this layered page effect disrupted the page change assignment on the "home" hard button (not sure why)

I find it odd that the program doesn't warn you of multi layering pages like it does with some buttons. I only discovered the multiple pages because I got so frustrated that I started to reverse program by deleting on thing at a time and test. I eventually deleted the internet viewing page only to find another... and another behind it.

The frustrating thing was it worked fine in the emulator but did not work properly when uploaded.

THANK YOU to all of you that tried to help and suggested things for me to think about ... they really did help me think about different angles for a solution and did help lead me to the answer.
