This was posted in the URC thread as well, but I was hoping someone that maybe uses both products could help me out.

I have had a hell of a time tracking down hex codes for my viewsat receiver. I noticed on this site that they had an MXD file, but of course you will need the MX-850 editor software to open the file. Once you open the file, can you view the individual hex codes? Is there any other way to extract this information?

Thanks in advance. And I do not own a URC remote, but am using an RTI system.

There is no way to "see" the hex data like you can in TheaterTouch & Prontoedit.

Don't you have the original remote to learn the codes from?

I have the original remote, but I never did purchase the IR-Pro as this is kind of a demo to present to some home builders. Depending on the success, that will effect which way I try to take this. I have been dealing with the local distributor, and so far everything has been good but I don't want to overstep anything so I was hoping there may be a way without tracking down an IR-Pro.

I have also tried learning these commands with an USB-UIRT device, and have had no luck so far.

Do yourself a favor and pick up the IR PRO. The IRP is designed to learn an IR code in with the best possible quaility.

I'm sure someone here will have a solution for you, but in the mean time...

... Buy an IR Pro!

I can't tell you how many times it has saved me MAJOR headaches. If you do even a small amount or business with RTI it is well worth it.

Yeah I can't say I am overly opposed to buying one IF I decide to go the direction of starting a new business. Unfortunately in my other line of work, Land Development, I have been doing quite fine and it would be pretty risky for me to pack in. So there sits the dilemma. I can probably have a working system for demoing to home builders without the FTA, but considering this is my place, I just wanted to get the last piece of the puzzle programmed.

If you ever have to work in the field... YOU HAVE TO HAVE AN IRPRO!!! That or you can use a Pronto to learn and import from the forums here. But the investment is not that bad.
