I have a job that I'll be getting around to sooner or later that involves me integrating a T3/RP6 with a Homeworks 4 series processor. I've got a Cat5 pulled and I have a very basic knowledge of 232 in relation to RTI products.

Any tips or pointers that I should be aware of before tackling this thing? Anything that you think could save me time and aggravation would be GREATLY appreciated.

TIA
AndyM

Create a few virtual keypads in the homeworks programming that will handle all of the lighting processes. Then just send KBP commands from RTI to press the virtual buttons.

It makes things work pretty well and all of you lighting changes can be done within homeworks.

It is pretty easy. Be aware that the RS232 baud rate defaults to something other than 9600 (IIRC)
...couple a thumb tacks and a stick of double sided tape should hold this baby up...

Interesting...

I didn't install the Homeworks. Do you think it would be to my benefit to get in touch with the Sparky that did? I know who he is and probably wouldn't have a hard time getting him to do the "scenes" for me.

You really have no choice but to talk to the original installer.
