Thinking of putting one of these in my shop.

The T4 in my opinion is a great remote, but here are some of my cons:

- SIZE (very large, 2 handed remote) Not incredibly easy to handle
- Virtually NO hard keys
- NO 2 Way communication
- Web/Wireless is not really good for much except sports/weather.
- Large price tag
- not mountable at this time
- occasional freezeups even with the upgrade
- unclear to what the Flash upgrade benefits are
- may be obsolete after next generation RTI remotes come to market.

Very true.

I guess it would depend on what point in your life you expect to be able to use or sell the remote.

Today? The T-4.

Next year? Possibly STILL the T-4.

2009? Who knows? It could be the T-4 ;-(
Every day is a good day.......some are just better than others!

Proud to say that my property is protected by a high speed wireless device!

Any cons?

- some of it's cons are it's pros. For example,

- Big Remote, doesn't feel like garbage, and big screen

- Big screen with the right template enables you to put everything on one page, making it more intuative in most cases. (my wife loves it)

- web (some people like the weather and sports thing)

- processor and memory

- flash capability

- future ability to mount to a console, etc to preview video

- camera/surv capability (i use this feature at home big plus)

- lack of hard keys (if you like that)

this is my favorite remote: better in my opinion than the T3 or T2C which I also use

Better because the large screen makes for fewer page turns: and it has the most appeal for most users: extremely bright and you can use large buttons (us older folks appreciate that)

Cons are it does lock up now and then, and it 'stutters' sometimes after wake up at the first button press (with or without 'ignore first button press after wake up')

I have had my T4 replaced under warranty: first one became unstable: every time I picked it up the screen would start to scroll
