RTI was very upfront that the current T3 will go away.

That leaves only the T2+ and T1 with the current color
scheme and charger base, so... how long will they be around?

Indeed. The new T3v was at CEDIA and pictures are circulating in several sopts on the web.

How come I can't find these on the RTI dealer site?

EDIT: Nevermind found them! They are NOT in the dealer side... but in the regular consumer side.

I wish RTI would take the new models off the consumer site. Clients don't need a reason to put a system on hold til next Feb or March or hey maybe even May when the units do come out.

(still say T3V needs tactile numeric buttons and a previous channel button.....even if they are tiny....tactile numerics ; this is why people like the T2c over the T3 even though the T3 is way better IMHO)

the only
difference between the T2-C & T2-Cs is the T2-Cs has a

they t2c is different than the t2cs. I was told the s
will be cheaper as it is smaller. the current unit will
be firmware upgradable for 2 way. the s unit will not

T2-Cs will never be 2 way according to RTI, in addition
it will have a more "fixed" screen layout, with a grid
like the T2+ rather than the total flexibility of the
T2-C and upper units.

Well Im confused:)

Here is the cut sheet from RTI for the T2Cs

[Link: rticorp.com]

I personally dont see a difference. I dont see the grids like the T2+. If the only difference is the screen size, and possibly the lack of 2-way, Ill probably be selling alot more of the T2Cs pieces. But if it DOES have a limited screen (grid type) like the T2+, I'll stick w the T2C. Maybe Ill change my opinions if I get more than the occassional applications for 2-way and flash.
No, I wont install your plasma with an orange extension cord hanging down the wall.

Is it just me or do the buttons on the T2-C feel stiff or heavy? - to a point where my fingers almost get fatigued when changing channels. I've had to return a unit for a sticky scroll button and the new one has a creeky cursor button. After some use it really starts to annow me. I much prefer the more positive feel of the T2+ and T3 buttons. It looks like the new models are going the same way as the T2C.

I've noticed the "sticky/rigid" buttons before as well. It is not all remotes, just some....but a fair amount.

Says RTI.

I'm not sure if the T2+ will be getting a price cut...seems
likely, but I think it may have a lot to do with some
of the other remotes; URC MX-980 are selling @ 599.00
USD and the NevoQ50 @699.00 (2.5 in. display) the only
difference between the T2-C & T2-Cs is the T2-Cs has a
(2.4 in display) oppose to the current T2-C (2.8 in display)

The flash ram size is different also.

T2-Cs - 8MB (per the web) [Link: rticorp.com]

T2-C 16MB (per the web) [Link: rticorp.com]

Good to know.

I'm not sure it will make much of a difference, as 95% of my installs only use a small fraction of the allotted memory anyway.

Why would RTI build onto the T3 model? The public reaction seems to be highly in favor of the T2-C design, why wouldn't they expand on that? I see ads all over with people trading their T3s for T2-C remotes.

Incidentally, I replaced my family room with a T2-C from a T-3 and my wife is highly in favor of the T3 and is not too fond of the T2-C. She actually want's me to bring back the T-4 which was there before the T3, but that is reserved for the Thtr room.

I tried to put a T2C in our home, to replace a T2+.

My wife liked the T2+ better.... said it was "sexier".

Lol

That being said, the T2C I brought home, promptly failed.
So I have two of the T2+ units.

Been using mainly T2Cs now though. Biggest issues seems to be the unreliable charger docking, and the occasional "rigid" button. Very nice remote overall though.

Probably just me, but I do like the "feel" of the T2+ buttons better though.

I have a T1, M2, T2C and a T3 at home, T1 and T3 are in the system and running......my wife still uses the Sat remotes and continually asks why we have so many remotes

I like the T3 and T2C, we have the T1 in the bedroom and work well for TV, Sat and dvd. the T3 seems to goto the kids room to control the sat that feeds the house

Will have to see on a T3v

Just a question...

For the guys who "really find that people prefer" T2cs over T3s... how many of you are using default configs from RTI? I mean you used the page wizard and made some links.

I bet this makes a big difference in how people perceive which is better.
