macros are very irratic. connecting ir from connecting block into mrf350. have identical system on first floor. works flawless. wire in wall is the culprit. im using cat5 and ive tried:

different pairs for 16v, gnd, data
no shorts in any pairs - verified
used all whites as ground
keypad from 1st floor to test remainder of system
used short piece of wire not inwall and all works perfect.
going to try 2 prs to signal
use whites as drain
increase repeats

Are you getting a true 16V (+/- 1 volt) at the KP location? Have you tried the operational K3's power supply on the erratic one?

Have you looked for anything that may be inducing IR noise on the line? Sunlight, LCD TV etc? Maybe try covering the IR receiver on the KP and see if that helps.

Bad 350?

update. Wire pinched under metal ductwork in severla spots. run long distances w/AC

able to rewire the first 40' of wire and the last 30' of wire leaving existing 15 in the middle. all is well
