I have tried searches and the onkyo website, and i cant find this reciever. Its not listed anywhere, i have a job going on w/ a t2+, pioneer 50, onkyo reciever, oyo cd changer and a panny dvd. im trying to get started on macros and codes but cant seem to find much. They have some discretes but i havent tried them on the job yet to c if they even worked.

I have a feeling that this reciever is old!!Any help would be appreciated!! GO SOX!!!

It's an older piece. You will likely find almost any Onkyo discretes will work for sources, but discrete power is a 50 50 proposition. You may find it works and you may not. Same with discrete surround modes. Just try almost any Onkyo or Integra AV amp.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Thanx, r they the same manufacturers?? didnt know that, will try, hope i can get it. my question to everyone is if a client calls u for a remote w/ a system u dont know or havent worked on previously, how do u know u can get it to work w discretes. Especially if u cant get a power discrete for it.

Little bit of experience in knowing what you can and can't do; little bit o'luck, and sometimes a fair amount of wasted time going through the database.

I have downloads from the file section here for many major names of AVRs, DVDs, VCRs, TVs, etc so I can cut and paste hex code if it's not immediately available from the database. I also have some old Pronto files that sometimes help.

Last is to keep a URC remote handy. Their database is quicker (for me) to browse for discrete source, power, and surround modes, so a quick download to an MX900 will often yield that code you need, which can be learned into an RTI learner.

Tom its funny u say urc!! my sales guy, who got me into rti, who used to do all my remotes until i learned them is telling me to switch to urc!!! Of course he change distributors, but he says the data base has way more codes.

Both products are outstanding for different clients.
