I've had a few go bad... I'll take two bad ones out of hundreds any day.

It means out of a hundred or so CM-232's he has installed, only a few were bad, and that's very good reliability in his book. His post was clear to me.

Now, the original poster's question is a little confusing I admit.

I have had one faulty CM-232. It was spitting out hex, but it was garbled. Replaced it and the system worked fine.

Worst post you've ever seen? Geez, you haven't been around very long. Give it time.

Thanks, for the back-up fellas. It made perfect sense to me. ;-)


I've found that the CM232 doesn't do well with getting banged around. One of my bad ones was a unit that had been bouncing around in my "Black Box O' Goodies" for several months, and the other had been installed and removed a bunch of times (getting banged off the wall each time).
