Has anybody heard about a Russound RS232 module out there for controlling a CAV 6.6 system with an RP-6 processor?

Thanks Guys!

You can use an RP6 with the serial module. It plugs into the IR output.

I think he was asking about the RS-232 code module, but I could be wrong.

Just get the .pdf from Russound and type in the strings. I also posted a version that I put into a .doc that you can copy and paste into TT. Its in the dl section at IP.

Only because you cant copy and paste into TT. The word doc I made you can just copy the hex into TT for each command.

If you use the "text select" tool in Acrobat Reader, you can copy and paste from .pdf's. I'm using AR version 8, and I know you can do it in version 7 as well.

I carry .pdf's of all my RS232 codes on my laptop for just that reason. They open quicker than .doc's or .xls's
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

This is a template for controlling Russound CAV6.6 with RTI RP-6 w/ RS-232 + RK3 \ T2C. It controls all 6 zones and sources on the first CAV unit (ID:01) via serial.

The Russound documentation examples are missing the Mute command. Does anyone have the Mute command for Zones 1-6 so I can update this?

Also, somewhat related, can anyone give me some examples of the hex string I need to send text to a russound keypad?

--

This uses System Macros to send the serial commands from an RP-6. You can include these system commands in your macros. I have used this for several systems and it works great.

It was created in TheaterTouch Designer 5.1.0.1661

SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's what what I needed to help get a grasp on RS232 programming with RTi and Russound.

Thanks Qliqk Labs!

I'll also try to get the mute hex codes from Russound to post to this thread.
