Hello kind friends. I have a annoying problem. I have a system in my own house that is working perfectly. I just decided to try something new with the control of the TV. Currently it is IR and working great. It has the ability to be RS232 so I thought that I would go that way, just for my own practice. However after searching the Internet as well as RC, I have found little to no info on the commands. I am using RTI product so I don't car how to do the strings in any other format. I was hoping that someone could either give me some examples or a direction to look in. I don't need all of the commands, just on, off, vol+/-, And the inputs.

Thanks for any help

Samsung HLS5687WX/XAA
Rti RP-6
Rti T2_C

PS I am not looking for if it isnt broke dont fix it. I am just trying to play around.
Don't read my answer. Someone else will go into great detail as to why I am wrong rather than answer the original question...

Cheesehead22,
Does your manual list the RS232 Codes?

Sorry to say you're in for a frustrating, disappointing truth. See the following thread.

It's ironic, we all know, as Samsung repeatedly advertises their sets as having "RS-232c" among their features. Should you have any luck, please post it.

There is no discrete power or volume up/down command, you must enter a value 1-100 for volume.

I sent you an email with the plasma 232 spec, it might work across platforms.

Let us know.
