Just had to post this photo of a T2+ that the customer called and said their remote was damaged. Seems their Golden Retriever had used it as a chew toy. I'm sure the dog ingested some glass and other plastic, but digestive tracts in dogs are known as pretty durable.

I was thinking of sending it in to get it repaired.

We had a client about 18 mo ago use his MX3000 as a frisbee. The RF issues were getting the best of him as one day was great and the next it was not responding but 5 min later was fine. He frisbeied the MX3000 into the rock mantle..from what his wife said....nothing was reusable...we sold him a new one at cost and changed out the RFX150 antennas to the RFX250 antennas...we havent heard from him in awhile so sounds like all is well

Recently had a client, most of his equipment is on a shelf in the walk in robe, he was getting changed one morning and felt a fine spray of water on his back. Ended up that a skylight in another room was leaking (first decent rain in ages) and water was running along a beam and dripping down through a downlight then onto the receiver.
The equipment, I think was even on at the time, so they turned it of and called the builder who mopped up the water (the gear was only in Standby!), diverted the leak until he could get back to fix it permanently.
I got the next phone call, went out and re-initialized the receiver, reset all the settings and away it went. The client was actually a little disappointed as they were hoping to be able to update through insurance.

Be sure to try their patience by asking if this is covered under warranty. Tell them the dog was a big black retriever and this was the result of a lab test.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

gwilly,

I had the same thing except it was a St. Bernard and a T3. We actually took it back to RTI just for kicks as we are in MN.

Update:

My partner just told me yesterday, that the dogs ate the new one.

It's getting expensive.

Could you mount an RK3 in a tabletop?

So that means that the second T2+ has been 'Terminated', I wonder if there'll be any more sequels?

That was a rhetorical question- it might be better to table-mount a keypad than have the dog keep chewing all the remotes :)

It seemed a reasonable question... and not that bad an idea. Think about the application as like a captains chair.

This is an exercise in learning how much it costs to train a dog and how much it costs not to train a dog.

This story reminds me of an airedale I once knew that had a wonderful outdoor doghouse made out of plywood (I typed plywoof -- what a great typo!) and about four feet high. About three weeks after getting it, the doorway had gone from a nice rectangle to an almost four foot circle with tooth marks all around the edge.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
