Has anyone programmed a U1 waterproof remote out there? I was looking for any tips or "in's or out's" for setting up this remote. I know there just a few hard buttons, but I was looking to see if anyone has really liked any particular features or functions once programmed and delivered.

Thanks Guys!

I have only done one and it was just simple. 2 cable boxes and two sat boxes. However, Idont know if it was the remote or the range or what but the homeowner called and complained. I went out and for once the complaint was for real and not just stupidity. Turns out thet remote would stick every so often and repeat codes over and over again. Most noticable on the channel buttons. Would not do it everytime but when it did there was no stoppiing it. There are 8 or so screws on the back so it is a pain to disconcet the battery. the remote was new out of the box. I also tried to clean it just to make sure that there wasnt anything sticking. I thought the remote is junk even before this happened. Wont sell another one. Just my thoughts.
Don't read my answer. Someone else will go into great detail as to why I am wrong rather than answer the original question...

I am doing 2 right now and there is one channel macro...
Clear
8
2
1
Enter

Everything else is up down from there and I intend to put that as a press and hold for 2 seconds under the source button sat.

Will report back on how it goes.

"SPRINGS"
I'm also starting one next week. I was told you can't build macros from the Rti guys on the buttons. I'm new to programming so I'm looking for input for selecting items.
Thanks!

Not springs, but I you can indeed build macros on the buttons. There is a limited amount of buttons available , wo you need to use flags to make it more useful.

Vincent, can you give me a programming "for-instance" on how to set one up with a button?
I would appreciate it!

im sure if you have an rp1 or rp6 in the system you could just point each button press to a system macro that resides on the rp1 or rp6.

Also have only done one unit, five sources, so one 'Press and Hold' was required. Other than that, very simple set up and operation.
There is a RM433 close by, so all works well.

I was going to do them as system macros so I could use things like press and hold. Will be on it late tonight.

The U1 for the out side patio was a big hit. I actually walked down the block turn in the volume up and down on the planter speakers.

Global buttons
Volume + - Mute and "press and hold" for 2 seconds on the center of the star brought up the system macro to turn off the zone.

CD
UP was Play
Down was Stop
Left was Prev
Right was Next
Center was Pause

DSS
Up was CH +
Down was CH -
Right was XM Pops macro
Left was Cinemagic (Don't ask)

Aux
Up was Play on DLO
Left was Prev on DLO
Right was Next on DLO

Same thing happened to me, IR codes would flood system and lock up everything. Found water in the remote. Got a replacement, days later same problem, water in the remote.

Love RTI, don't trust the U1, will wait for the U2 instead.

Put a little Vaseline on the gasket and make sure the screws are tight, the water could also be from condensation
