Hey all,

I am trying to get the discrete input commands for my t2+... I was given the Philips RC5 info from the manufacturer but I have no idea how to turn those into hex codes that I can use! Below is the information given to me, if anyone knows what to do next or maybe has the discreet for the Moon P-3 Pre amp I would be SO grateful!

Info I have:

Protocol : Philips RC-5

System code : 16

Command codes :

- Power :12
- Input :63
- Mute :13
- Vol + :16
- Vol - :17
- Bal R :26
- Bal L :27
- 0(make CD input direct access): 0
- 1(make A1 input direct access): 1
- 2(make A2 input direct access): 2
- 3(make A3 input direct access): 3
- 4(make A4 input direct access): 4
- 5(make A5 input direct access): 5
- 6(make A6 input direct access): 6
-7(make A7 input direct access): 7

The codes used in RTI are in the same form as the hex codes used for Prontos. I carry a Pronto with me and can copy and paste codes from it to the RTI database.

Go to the Pronto forum, either one of them, and write this exact post. There are IR gurus there who will help. Also read some of the threads there where people talk about hex code, or getting commands, in the thread title.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Is that the unit that was a reworked EAD TheaterMaster?

If it is...
Flip the power switch to the off position on the back of the unit...
Place your finger on the front panel but...
Flip the switch on the back, back to on...
Remove your finger from the front panel button after 2 seconds...

If you see the name of a IR command on the front of the unit it is a re badged EAD TheaterMaster.

In this mode the Unit emits its IR codes out the front of the unit to teach learning remotes. Each tap on the front panel toggles through ALL THE IR CODES for the unit. It was great feature for the broken or not too durable crisp solutions remotes that shipped with the TheaterMasters in the 90's...

How I miss that company.

Anyways, moving right along...

I am not that familiar with Sim Audios products, but I know they used EAD for Preamp/Processors and Amplifiers for a while.

So if the above rambling is of any use... cool. If not... I tried...

hey thanks for your help guys!

Springs: I am pretty sure this is not a reworked Theatre Master... The display on the front is just a 4 digit digital clock style display that shows the inputs and the volume... I am still going to try what you suggest though!

Maybe I'm dense, this audiophile grade pre-amp does not come with a IR based remote control in the box? If thats the case then I'm sure the power cord is extra too.

Maybe the volume has one button and it just sends out random ups or downs or possibly this unit was designed for manual control. Once again I must be dense.

It does come with a remote... a crazy one made out of metal!!(do not drop on your toe) but the remote does not have the discrete codes to learn... just the cycling selection input button... So... you are totally not dense. however, the remote is.
