I've never programmed an Acram receiver / preamp. I'm going out to program a AVP700 pre. Are all Arcam codes universal between their receivers and preamps like B&K etc?

I don't remember if they are universal... I want to say yes.

I do remember that we had to do RS232 on all their products because of how slow they are to boot up.

OH... and EVERY piece we have sold has had to go back for service at least once.

Their products sound fantastic... but are as unreliable as anything I've ever worked with. We dropped them over a year ago.

also try the Audiocontol Maestro M2 or Maestro codes, if you look at the pictures they are the same units almost to the T

The mega list has the codes for Audiocontrol

When I dealt with Arcam a few years ago they were defaulted for toggle-bit IR codes.

If you cannot get the unit to respond to the same button two times in a row, it is in toggle-bit mode.

In the setup menu you can select your remote control type to "Universal" to take it out of toggle-bit mode.

This info may or may not be current, but a heads up nonetheless.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Arcam has the capability to be set to different code sets. If you've had control over the 700 since new it shouldnt be a problem, but if you are walking in to something, its just a little thing to keep in the back of your mind.
