I implemented a Rotel RX1052 four zone receiver today and had to overcome a couple of issues.
1) Do not follow the 232 pin out information in the manual. It is wrong. Use the DB9 to RJ45 adapter cable diagram that is available as a separate download.
2) When using an RP6 or RP1, ground the processor (via the IR ground on the block) to the receiver at the ground lug to eliminate horrific volume ramping control signal bleed into the audio stream.
