Dear all,

I have got a pair of Krell KAV250a power amp. They have a triggered port for control of power on/off. How can I use the T2 to control it? Besides the IRF6, any accessories I need to purchase?

Heinz,

The Krell uses a standard 3.5mm jack and has a 12v input and output trigger. By using a VPS-1 with the IR-6 you can detect the "on" status of your KAV250 and control whether or not to send an IR signal to a the source unit that would trigger the amp to on. Neither the IR-6 or the VPS-1 have a 12V output to trigger the Krell to "on" this must come from another source. If you do not have another source to control the 12V trigger then there are third party options Niles makes some great products that would do the job. E-mail me and I will work with you to get you what you need to integrate with your system.

Thanks Bill,

I plan to buy a Lexicon MC 1 controller. I think that it should be able to trigger the on/off to the Krell amps. But I just want to know how should I connect the VPS 1 to the Krell amp because I can only see two loose ends from the pictures on RTI web site.

You are correct the VPS 1 has two loose ends. If you want to use this than you will have to buy a 3.5 mm jack available at just about all electronics stores. The good news is the DC 1 has a direct IR input from the IR-6 or VPS-1 using a dual 3.5 cable, the bad news is the DC-1 trigger output is by DIN. I have not seen a cable that is din to 3.5, so this is going to take some custom cable work. Good luck I jealous, sounds like a nice set up.

THE MC-1 HAS 12 VOLT TRIGGERS ON THE BACK OF IT TO TRIGGER THESE AMPS TO TURN ON...USE THOSE..CONNECT FROM THE MC-1 TO THE AMPS...I'VE HOOKED UP THREE AMPS TO THIS ONE TRIGGER AND IT WORKED FINE TURNING ON ALL THE AMPS......Robert...it's extremely easy to do
