Just need a quick clarification if these two receivers IR codes sets are the same. I'm sure that most are the same, however I'm sure some of you die hard Yamaha users would know this answer.

This is due to the annual zero inventory of Denon receivers. It's funny I checked the Yamaha PAB website and they do have some minimal files in CML, however the MX-F files have basically everything. You would think that Yamaha could at least give us RTI integrators a bone.

Thanks again.

While I don't know the answer to your equestion , I know that Yamaha uses the same IR codes for every receiver, HOWEVER, they may be of a different function from one receiver to the next. For example, TUNER input on a 1700 could be a DTV input on a 659. Some are exactly the same, but if I were you I would go to Yamaha's site - they have the IR codes in a spreadsheet and do a comparison on the two receivers in question.
