Anyone had any problems with the RM433 modules?

Lately, I had one that would intermittently not receive commands. I would press a button on the remote and watch the activity LED on the RM433. About every 5th or 6th try, the LED didn't light up, and no command was received. I kept thinking it was a programming problem, and it was driving me crazy. Finally, I swapped out the RM433 in question for another one that I knew was good. Problem solved.

Then, I've had two more (maybe three) that would intermittently show reception (LED lit solid) when no commands were being sent like there was interference. During that time, no command would be accepted. Unplugging the signal connector and re-plugging would sometimes fix it, or simply waiting a few minutes and the problem would disappear only to re-appear later. Like in the 1st instance this was driving me nuts. Replacing these RM433s solved the problem.

No, I've always used the antenna that came in the box with the specific module.

I meant there was a post about the new ROHOS T4 not working with a older 433. Problem was solved by a ROHOS 433.

Stupid Question Warning:

I must have missed something... I have seen the ROHS (or is it ROHOS) stickers on the new RTI things, but have no idea what it means.

Enlighten me.

so the new ball bearing tilt switch in place of the mercury tilt switch
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

I have had at least 3 RM433 act in the same manner. If something isnt working dont waste time swap out the RM433's till it works. I have also had 3 T3's and 3 T2-C's crap out, and a T2+ backlight today go bad.

i've had 3 bad rm433's in the past 2 weeks. tech support told me it is known issue that shows up in the rp1 as well. Not fun to troubleshoot because sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
i wanna go home now

How many customers have you had ask if the remote is broken because of this? Even after I explain what it is they still think it is broken.

Explain that its a toggle switch. Hold right up to the ear and shake it about. Say it activates the screen. Shouldn't be that hard to get them comfortable with it.

Call tech support and they will explain it as the remote and the antenna not matching up. When they redesigned to be ROHS they made changes not compatible to the old ones. If you have one that does not work, swap it out and it can be fixed at RTI. There is no fix available even through firmware updates.
