Damn, I got started programming the T4 and was really rocking at first. Got ready to test some of the programming and ran in to my first issue. I am using a RP6.

When I send commands from the T4, i was getting nothing. Figured I would go through programming and make sure all the RF properties were set properly. Couldn't find an issue. Then I went to make sure the rp6 had usb unplugged because i was getting confused. When I stand within 5 ft of rf antenna, it works perfectly. If I move away, nothing.

When I press a button near the rp6, the antenna flashes green and works well.
When I press a button away from the rp6, it flashes red.

I read a couple of old threads about others having issues very similar. Do I have the same problem or should I try something else?

Man, this sucks. All excited and it appears I will have to wait until this gets switched out. Please tell me there is something I am missing.

Fully charge the battery and hope a firmware update saves you!

Fully charged battery. New firmware. Still only works within a few feet of antenna.

I have a T2C, which works from at least 50 feet away. Is it possible that T4 is more susceptible to rf interference?

I will call RTI in the morning, but it looks like this ones going back.

How many of you are having this problem with the T4's? Is the issue like 1 in 10 or 1 in 100?

Update: Apparently the new t4's do not work with rm433's which are older than 1 month. Luckily I had ordered another rm433 so I was able to switch it out and now it works fine. The new rm433's have a sticker on the back which is a date code. Ones without date code do not work with new t4's.

Thanks for the help. Off to get busy programming.

The word probably needs to get out. No one at my disty knew of the problem. When I called RTI, the first guy knew the issue and the immediate fix. It has something to do with ROHS changes they have made to certain products.

By the way, remotes going good. Got it controlling main zone and DA system reliably.

Do you have any advice on flags. I want to begin learning about using them to monitor zones and what source the the zone is on. That way it doesn't send power source macros when other zone selects it. Xantech does some of this, but I want to learn it for RTI.

I will dig through the threads this weekend. Thanks again.

That is the beauty of the code set for the Marantz... completely independent controls with all discretes.

I'm using a T4 with RP1 and am seemingly having an RF range problem. A T1 worked fine with this RP1. How do you suppose this relates to your problem?
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Could be same issue. Apparently they had to change something with the rf antenna's. Call in to see if this issue is also with rp1. Seems like it could be the same issue.

Still, even with new rm433 I still have some range issues. My t2c can go outside and up to the property line (65 feet). My t4 barely can get to the outside wall (30 feet and my favorite seat). Anyone have any suggestions for this? Moving the antenna is easy, but just curious about the differences in range of the remotes.

I don't have any problems with controlling Marantz. I am trying to use them to control a Xantech MRC88, or other DA systems. I believe they will be necessary to master this DA system.

Thanks

You know... when I think about it the MRC-88 wouldn't suck nearly as bad with 2500 dollar touchpanels... Ohh wait, I still get the BS software. 30 minute load times. Fixed outputs that suddenly drop to a -50db Level after a firmware update. THAT LOVELY SUCK A$$ SUPPORT I HAVE WRITTEN ABOUT SEVERAL TIMES.

Oh 3 months and still no call back about the levels being messed up.

I wish I had another product to recommend over the MRC-88 but I just will not touch it again. Other guys recommend B&K. Just don't have any firsthand with them.

I know you're not a fan of them, but I haven't had the problems that you have mentioned. I am looking at better alternatives, but for now this is what I have.
