The only reason for the special Lutron 4-wire is the 600
volt rating. Since it's going in the same box as the
Graphic Eye, it needs to be high-voltage rated - if you
want to stay in code.

I've used plenty of the "entrance controls". Works like
a champ. Looks great, too.

Hmm, hadn't thought about that part... Take my Cat5 advice with a grain of salt. :-)

Well, if the answer to my question were a rattlesnake it woulda bit me in the ass!
All I know is my salesman spec'd the RK1, and then sent me on the hunt for something to fill the gap in availability. We don't do any lutron other than the Graphik Eye, and I didn't even try to take the time to look through the catalog...serves me right.

Thanks, all!

We made a policy to help our sales staff with bids.

If you spec vaporware you find the replacement. If we have to figure it out and it costs more... guess who pays the difference. THAT WOULD BE THE SALESMAN! Really helped with getting them to clear things with install or tech. Couple of $800 mistakes and they wise up.
