I have worked with the request one time with a pronto an was not real happy with the layout. With the Polk XM tuner I always had issues with the IR. I would move the flasher around for an hour then get sick of it and I gave up. Making the XM be IR only was the only way to get it to work.

Anyways... since the request web interface is Java driven I can't use http. I tried using the browser and the T4 locked up to the point where I had to reboot it. So I guess I am going to have to go with IR or 232 control. But with out 2 way I figure, why bother??? Have to turn on TV to listen to music... (GIVE ME A SONOS!)

Anyone have good results with either of these and be willing to share some configuration pages? Polk XM tuner and Audio reQuest F series.

I've been loking for a Request solution for a long time.
I'm always right. The only time I was wrong was the time that I thought, that I was wrong.

I finished a T4 with the Polk XM tuner and so far so good....

I used RS232 for control but was shocked by the lack of 0, 1-9 commands for direct channel input.......I ended up using IR and RS232 just to get these commands into the system......

Haven't finshed the final tweaking and the page is generic............check out the Polk website for the commands and the tech bulletin about firmware upgrading the POLK when you have issues......

If you can't be good, be good at it.

I am about to embark on a T4 project with a request. The T4 has a web browser and the request has a web server. However, to access the requests webserver the browser must support flash.

The bad new is that the T4 does not support flash.
The good news is that the browser will support flash on or around July 1st.

I am looking to see how this integration will work. Since its flash based it should be pretty quick and smooth and then little or no programming required.

Where did you hear that the browser on T4 will support flash? This could be huge if it is true.

Then, the ultimate would be if the T4 could actually HOST a flash page internally. If you could update a .swf flash file, and have the T4 access it from internal memory that would be incredible.

Then, make it so that flash buttons could run RTI macros and you would have the world's coolest control system (that I sell :)
...couple a thumb tacks and a stick of double sided tape should hold this baby up...

Fluid... isn't that almost exactly what Digilinx does with the Polk Tuner?

I was told that a Flash enabled T4 was floating around about 2 months back. NEVER SAW IT>>> DON'T HOLD ME TO IT!

Heard it right from the horses mouth. RTI. From three sources.
1) The regional Sales Rep/Mgr
2) At the training class I attended earlier this month.
3) From Netstreams. They have tested a working Flash enabled T4.

#1 & #2 confirmed the date/time frame.

I know it will suport flash enabled web pages but I don't believe that it will have the ability to access flash files in the remote programing area.

I agree that this would be cool.

The focus was more for the ability to access flash enabled control devices accessable over a home network connection like Netstreams and Request and use the T4 to control these devices, with their native interfaces.

In the case of Netstreams the T4 solves the issue of using one device that can access the native interface, for Digilynx control for the local room (as well as any other zone/source) as well as a Home theater control.
