It seems strange, but this will be my first integration of a Direct TV receiver in the last four or five years. Comcast is near exclusive in my niche.
I am curious about the specific application and behavior of several HR20-700 functions listed below. The receiver is unfortunately on the job site which is a long haul from here so I can not test for myself at the moment.
Active? Back vs Previous? Blue, Green, Yellow and Red? Dash? Select vs Enter? List?
I would greatly appreciate any insight.

Active = Not Sure....never had to use that one! Back = Same as exit or clear, Previous = Last Channel Blue, Green Yellow, Red = Functions in Guides and Menus, such as Day Foward/Reverse Dash = Tuning in a channel "in-between" normal channels, such as 2-1, (local Ch. 2) Select = Menu Functions, Guide Functions, DVR Functions, Enter = Channel Entering (5-0-1-Enter) List = Recorded list of programs
They are all needed for the average user, hope that helps.

Active is a funky interface page where you get things like weather and other things onscreen. More or less an interactive like page.

Are the Day +/- functions mated to set color keys and if so are these the only functions assigned to those keys (i.e. discrete)?
Do the color keys change function depending on the current function set?
I can see that having a dash to the left of "0" and enter to the right of "0" on the number pad would be logical.
Would anyone have any use scenarios for me to consider for my GUI layout?
