Maybe I should have called it pixel resolution or display resolution to make it a little more clear, but given the context of the post I would have thought it made sense.

Resolution can have many and varied definitions, depending on the device being disucssed (ie. printer, display, graphic file). For a bitmap file being used on a touch screen with a defined size, I would think Pixels Per Inch would have less relevance as it has a fixed number of pixels. For raster graphics, images can be printed or displayed at variable resolutions depending on the capabilities of the output device so PPI would be more relevant.

So if a 42" Plasma Monitor has 1280x720 pixels, would you say that it has a resolution of 1280x720 or a resolution of ~35.5 Pixels Per Inch (horizontally)?

Or if a laser printer is capable of printing at 1200 DPI, would it have a resolution of 10200 x 13200 dots (on 8 1/2" x 11" paper) or 1200 DPI?

OK...

I was able to get the Bitmaprip application to work (somewhat) but the X-ripper keeps locking up during the .png search. I thought it may be a file size issue but it does the same for all of the template files.

It seems that some files get corrupted in the process and unfortunately the blank "square" pressed state button does not survive. I was, however, able to mine most of the other plain buttons.

Anyone with any ideas?

X-ripper appears to crash when you have a long destination directory. So I just created a new folder under c:\ and it seems to work. Not 100% sure if that is the reason for the crashing but it worked after I did this.

With regards to the corrupt png's (and missing blank glass push down state button), both programs seem to have the issue so it appears to be the format of the RTI library file and not the conversion programs.

So what was the deal on these "banned" icons? Did RTI or someone else ban these from display?

I imagine that the poster is no longer having the images hosted at the same exact location or at all... the code link is no longer valid.

I'm trying to extract RTI png files from the templates and have tried both programs listed here, X Ripper crashes half way through, and bitmaprip only flashes on my screen briefly when I try to open it.. Any suggestions?

Drag & drop the template file onto bitmaprip.exe.
You should then get the extracted files in the same folder as bitmaprip.

I have a T2-C. The software has .rtitemplate files.
I need to extract these files.
Has anyone sucessfully done this ? Can you post your results ?

I Read previous posts and am having poor results.
Cut and paste method will not work as the backgrounds larger than 240 x 320
can not be put onto the T2-C.
Many of these background files need to be resized to fit onto the 240 x 320
T2-C screen.

The posts earlier in this thread explain it pretty well (I am also tgrugett) and I do not know if anyone has had 100% success doing this. if you need to resize a graphic then you need to use some sort of editing software which most of us do when we need a graphic modified for our needs.

Download one of the applications mentioned above (bitmaprip or x-ripper). Locate the graphics folder in the RTI program folder and find the appropriate .rtitemplate file. With bitmaprip I believe you simply drag the file onto the application icon to initiate the ripping. Good luck getting all of them to produce.
