I agree - I also use transport buttons more often in most devices. Just about the only time I use numbers is when skipping around tracks in a CD, especially for programming. Then I'm really glad I have them. But the number buttons as transport make good sense and easily mapped mentally.

I will say though, that for blind operation I find using the cursor buttons double-duty for transport commands more accessible.

Options are good!

Now that you mentioned it, I must agree with you. I use to use the number buttons quite often to go directly to the station that I want. However,since I got the TiVo unit with its on-screen TV guide, I just browse the guide and then select the channel from there instead. So I rarely use the the number buttons anymore. I would definitely prefer to replace the number buttons with transport buttons instead. What do you think Mitch (RTI)?
