I have had it with my TC1000, but since I have decided against another LCD remote like Pronto (I like some hard controls especially the cursor stuff), I am considering the RTI T2. If I don't use the RF, how powerful is the IR? Thanks. Curtis

I found the IR range to be pretty good, though learning can be a bit tricky from some remotes.

I also found it very good, a bit shy of the Pronto.

For me the range is more than adequate (20 feet no problem), but the angle is not as good as other remotes I have tried. Acceptable, just not as good. I am considering going RF, just so I can be completely lazy and not even bother to point the remote in any direction :-)

You may want to read my earlier thread, re: ready to return the sucker. I had IR transmission distance problems with my remote. It could only xmit about 8 feet to my Pioneer Elite TV and to a stand alone IR Sensor unit which runs my TiVo. Other people thought that I may have a defective unit, but I didn't bother to return it since I switched to using RF transmission with the IRF-6 instead. Now everything is working fine.
