OK. Spend a whole day learning how to program my T2. I think I finally got the hang of it. Love it actually, UNTIL, I tried out the T2 after it has learned from my TiVo remote. Guess what?! I can sit back on my sofa and point my remote at a pyramid IR sensor (which xmit to my IR receiver in the closet to control TiVo) about 15 feet away with no problem. HOWEVER, with the T2,I have to be about 8 feet from it. Why? I don't understand this problem. I even tried to edit the IR codes to increase/decreas the frequency setting, but nothing helped with the distance problem. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, were you able to solve it? Very Frustrated!

You might want to check the batteries both in the T2 as well as the TiVo remote. A 'weak' signal generated by the TiVo remote to the T2 may be aggravated by the T2. I have noticed that when my distance deteriorates it is usually because of weak batteries - even new ones. Hope that helps.

I recomend you do not learn the codes. I suggest that you use the undocumented feature the software provides for using Pronto Hex IR codes.

You can find the TiVo IR codes for the Pronto listed in hex format at the TiVo site here:

The details for how to enter these codes into the T2 Theater Designer can be found in the following thread:

Hope that helps out, It did for me when I was learning my TiVo codes. I would suggest you grab my configuration (www.madravings.com) and give it a try, but I am only setup for remote address's one and three. The TiVo defaults to address zero.
