OK, bridge set as well.

Start sys with RK3 all's well. Displays "now playing". Three minutes later "this page cannot be displayed". Hit HOME, Now Playing and it displays fine. A few minutes later....

Do you have any other systems "talking" to the Escient?

We have had a similar sounding issue.. and I think it may be due to the fact that a Niles ICS system is communicating to the Escient (via RS232) and there may be some conflict here... or perhaps the Escient is being direct to a new song/genre etc by the ICS and the web interface is "losing" touch with what is happening.

Grasping at straws... so keep me posted.

So, latest update.

The bridge has a static ip. The RK3 and Fireball as well, which are connected to the bridge. Rebooted the bridge and now the RK3 and Fireball are communicating flawlessly. The Fireball goes thru the bridge to the internet and sees Gracenote with no trouble.

New hitch. The RK3 had a "Weather" button that went to MSN weather. When all parts of the system were still DHCP enabled, the weather ALWAYS connected, even when the panel and Fireball were coughing and hiccuping. Now with static addresses, the RK3 does not seem to get outside the network to the internet. "The page cannot be displayed". Yet, the Fireball, through the same bridge, does, without a hitch. Network settings on the RK3? Does the Gateway and DNS address change now? They worked thru 192.168.1.1 and .110 on the DNS server... not now. What am I missing?

EDIT: Found it.

The DNS server setting was wrong. ipconfig /all listed it out; plugged into the RK3 and we're live.

I was wondering why you never sent the config...

I was thinking it was going to be DNS at the bridge or on the keypad. That is why I wanted to see the config and the Status page from the Linksys.

Anyways... glad you found it.

Well, the bridge was new to me. I didn't know if the keypad, instead of looking at the router, now had to look at the bridge for gateway and DNS addresses and the answer (in this case, presumably in all cases) was no. So the "main" router remains the path out to internetland.

As for IP Addressing, you may want to look into your DHCP server to see if you can make reservations for devices (most recent routers will accommodate this) so they always get the same address, this would be done by MAC address. I do this in most installs due to the fact that you add or change something in the network you do not need to go to all the devices that you have on the network and make the change, now you just make the change on the DHCP server and it changes it on all devices. Plus with the reservation you always know the IP Address of each device and you know the MAC Address which a lot of manufacturers use as serial numbers.
