I read in Brian's user review that in his experience the IRF-6 does not seem to reliably pass on X-10 signals to an IR543. Does anyone else have this same experience? Could this perhaps be improved by adjusting the output level of the IRF-6 port?

The commands seem to work much better as Macros than isolated codes. Not many problems at all. It seems like before it would turn off the wrong lite about 20% of the time. Since going to macros with consistant time delays between commands, it seems to have cleared this up.

Brian,

Did you happen to try and experiment with the number of repetitions for the IR signals to increase reliability?

I can get the IR543 to work when the range setting is set to 1-4 but it won't work with the switch set to 5-8. The buttons on the IR543 work in both settings. I am using macros. Any suggestions?

For anyone wanting to use an IR remote to control X10, I suggest that you get an Ocelot instead of the IR543. The Ocelot is more expensive but very reliable and the possibilities for expansion into the Home Automation area are endless. I did and after that I have been very happy, no more wrong lights or commands.

It seems like the repetitions for the address can not be set at anything higher than 2 or 3 (or it will not work) but the command code (off/on) can be set much higher. You should not have to set the numeric switch on the IR543 at all. If you need the hex codes for 1 through 1-16, send me an e-mail and I will send them to you.
