Overall I thought this remote was a breeze. I learned the language and got quick at it in under 2 hours, including configuring software, updating with v1.12, cabling, etc. Though that doesn't include wiring up the IRF-6... which is taking a bit longer.

I say round 1 for programming because, some will have to be redone as RS-232 becomes available and I would assume some more will need redoing as the programming language is enhanced.

Some comments to functionality.

I had no problems learning any of the 15 remotes I had to learn (though I downloaded codes for 6 of them), except 1, the B&O... which is being sent to RTI for some expert encoding. That is, no problems at all... maybe I was lucky... but, none-the-less... all of the bad indications scared me a bit... so here is one good one.

I have no problems with direct IR sending of signals. The remote works as good (and in my opinion better) than any other remote I have in my little inventory... including the Sony TV remotes... which work from everywhere.

The programming language is a breeze and easy to learn... anyone moderately prepared to undertake this task should have no problems. Any professional programmer of ANY TYPE will blast through this without bothering with the manual in no time at all.

Buttons feel great, lighting is great, touch screen responds great. Would like more resolution on the touch screen... and personally, would have liked the touch-part of the touch screen below... where the less-used numeric buttons are. Short of that... would like a bend in the unit (while retaining balance) that allowed the touch screen to be seen from a flatter approach... I do feel as though I am turning my wrist alot when using the touch screen... but definately a friendlier use than the Pronto or Madrigal offerings.

I'll put my wish list (feature and function) in a subsequent post...

Cliff
