Start code 0x45 and 0xB5

Example to send a pause code "00"
0x45,0xB5,0x00,0xFF

Example to send a Play code "15"
0x45,0xB5,0x15,0xEA

What is the 'FF' and 'EA' part of the string? Which characters go with which commands?

Could someone send me a file that contains a page with the code written for each of the commands listed above? Or maybe even the common ones? Thanks.

I don't have a list, but i'll teach you how to fish. Each command is 4 bytes long (even though the protocol says otherwise). All numbering is HEX. Every command begins with the same 2 byte start code 45 B5. Next is the function code. This is the 2 digit number next to every command in the first post. For pause it's 00 for play it's 15. The last byte is the tough one. The protocol calls it the "reversal of the function". To get this number you need to subtract the function code from FF. So in our example:
pause: FF-00=FF
play: FF-15=EA

How do we subtract numbers from letters?
1.) Open up the calculator in Windows (Start>Run>Calc)
2.) Go to View>Scientific
3.) Check the Radio Button for HEX in the upper left corner
4.) Do your math.

Hope this helps.

Here are RS232C Serial Commands for Toshiba's new HD DVD

80 UP
81 Down
82 Upper Right
83 Lower Right
84 Menu
85 Lower Left
86 Upper Right

Mark,
You have two different codes listed as "Upper Right". Which one is actually upper right and which is upper left? I know it has been a while since this thread was posted originally, but if you still have the documentation, I would like to archive it.

So how about the HD-XA2? I understand it is bi-directional. How do we query it or otherwise get info from it for AMX/Crestron systems or the upcoming (well, one day) RTI XP-8 two-way system?
