I am thinking of buying a Yamaha DVD C-950 to learn RS 232 with. I have a RP-6 and T2+ running smoothly in my personal home. Some of the files I have gotten my hands on with some 232 seem to make sense after I study the file long enough. Yamaha protocols from here---->

make no sense to me. Anybody have a RTI file with Yamaha 232 involved that I can take a look at?

thanks

I have read that post, still lost. I dont under stand what DT0 is or how to read the examples compared to the .pdf. Other components that I have looked at became clear, I must be missing something in the yamaha .pdf.

Branden, do you do crestron? if so, you can grab the strings out of the dvdc-940 module. That's what I did. just watch out. yamaha removed the separate chapter skip / ff/rw codes. freakin yamaha dvd changers.......

if you really are stuck, I'll send you a file.

No Crestron. I have a RXV-1600 from the shop at my house I plan on playing with over the next week or so. Please send a file, I cant make heads or tails from the Yamaha .pdf. Once I see it in RTI I should be able to figure out what is going on.

I need a Null modem also, correct?

Ok I know my Null modem works because I used it with the receiver manager from Yamaha. Nice little program. So my 232 needs some work.
