Do you mean the macro sits for a few hours running...are
you going to run other commands while that macro
is executing?
I think what he means is that the Remote would ONLY function as an IR standalone remote, while the system macro is engaged (and thus tying up the RP6)
Better solution: use two RP6 units.
One exclusively is used for the sleep timer macro. When the sleep timer macro is called, it counts (delay) to a set time, and then executes a IR trigger for an ALL OFF macro which is stored on the other RP6.
The other RP6, is used for all regular commands and macros. Both units can function with RF.
You'd need to have the sleep-timer-RP6 output IR via a flasher....and connect it to an IR receiver connected to the second (main) RP6 for triggering the ALL OFF command.
Bit of a work-around solution, but should work if this feature is needed. Hell, you could even use this method in a larger system to simulate normal operations of the system while the client is away on holidays. Could trigger ON and OFF macros on a 6 or more RP6 units distributed throughout the home.... :)
.... or you could just put in Crestron....
