Has anyone tried programming RTI (T2+,T1,T3,RP6) on a mac using virtual PC. I have not had success, wondering if there is a workaround or solution.

OK, I knew I was going to get this response.....I thought it would take longer than 5 minutes!
RTI knew of the problem, replied that microsoft was working on it. The wierd part I forgot to mention was that a T3 will program but none of the other devices. Maybe this is a hint for an answer I am not aware of.

Thought there might be help from someone. There must be some mac users out there.

Yes we use PC's as well! You have to for now :)

Never take a MAC in the field and expect it to work. Shit never take anyhting in the field you have not tested away from customers.

MAC people love them some MAC... but you have to accept right upfront that it is not going to work with a whole lot of stuff.

Can't program a Pronto, a RTI, a URC, a pansonic Phone system etc etc. The time it takes me to think about it, I could pick up a decent Laptop and just get my job done.

$600 laptop to save me hours of headaches and make it possible for me to ear my living. SOLD!

I think the drift of the thread is that even IF you may get it working, you risk headaches. Even guys with no serial connectors using dongles have issues with a PC - so we try to avoid introducing more headaches than we already have.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Ive programmed TSU3000 and MX3000's on my ibook before. A little slow, but did the job.

The driver emulation of Virtual PC will not pass through to the remote. I have a PowerBook and have spent quite some time trying to get it working. I can get both the Powerbook and VPC to recognize the remote, however no communication with Theater Touch Designer Software.

This seems to be a problem across the board for VPC using attached hardware devices. Hopefully the Intel Chips shipping in the new macs will help this problem

Ive got a few of the DuoCOre machines, and no, as of right now, they will not work. No Virtual PC for it, and Windows wont tun on them yet.

THe main difference is that XP is a BIOS booting OS, and MacOSX uses EFI to boot. But....last year gateway had a version of XP media center booting off of EFI, so it is feasible, and just a matter of time before someone gets the hack down. THeres a 12,000 bounty on the first to do it right now.
