Can't seem to get any bass out of my subwoofer. Connected it to the 5.1 decoder on back of the receiver but still doesn't work. Am I missing something?? The subwoofer works fine when I'm in Satellite mode. I have read and reread the manual. I've tried changing speaker size from large to small and vice versa. I also, have the receiver set to 5.1. Can anyone give me some other possibilities that I might have missed.

Did you choose "SUBWOOFER:YES" in the DVD 530 setup menu?

Are you trying to use both the 5.1 outputs on the DVD player AND your receiver? I seem to recall a thread here somewhere which said you may use one or the other but not both.....

Read a thread further down and it solved my problem. I had the settings correct, but I needed to turn my cut off frequency on my subwoofer all the way up. Also, I changed my front speakers to "Small". Everything is working fine now. Thanks for trying to help to Mark and Steve.
