Is it ok to leave the DVD in the DVD Player for a period of time when your not using the player ?

I've only done it once or twice by accident. It doesn't seem to have hurt the disk.

Just my humble opinion.

If it does Sony and Pioneer mega dvd changers some big problems on their hands. What made you ask this question?

Why would it hurt anything, it is just like being in any other storage rack. The only time the disk is being read is when it is playing.

Run this test on a DVD you don't mind losing...

Put the DVD in the DVD player.
Leave it there until you'd rather watch a different movie.
Put the new movie in, play it, and then...
Leave it there until you'd rather watch a different movie.

The worst thing that will happen is that you'll get your movies mixed up in the wrong boxes. Why? Because one of Brown's (that's me) Laws is:

"The longer anything is not where it should be (in the case) then the farther it will get from where it belongs and the odds for it ever getting back to it's original storage place decrease."

These laws apply to everything. For me it's tools that I lose track of. In this case, the fewer movies you watch, the longer each will stay out of it's case, and the more likely it is that you'll lose track.

What to do? WATCH MORE MOVIES!
