Can anyone tell me whether or not it is advisable to bundle the cables coming out of your system? Speaker cable with s-video with tos with interconnect with television coax? Does it cause interference or degrade the signal?

David, I don't think there is a definitive answer to that question. The one thing I would avoid is bundling power wiring with signal wiring. I recently bundled all my signal cables for about 20 ft and I can't see any difference from when they were separated. As long as shields are complete and grounded, it should be OK.

Adding to tweakman's response.

I would also keep the speaker cable separated out as well since they carry some juice compared to the signal interconnects.

No scientific basis, just personal thing.

Though I have no supporting facts either way, it was my understanding that bundling cables was bad. But then I see all this high-end A/V furnature with built-in cable management (basically jam it out of the way), so I really don't know. I'd follow the advice to keep long lenghts of power cables away from low-level RCA cables.

If your cables are properly insulated (you are not running bare wire right?) you should not have any problems with "bundling" your cables. Daniel is correct, as usual, by commenting that almost all of your higher end home theater assemblies, i.e. Hooker, are coming with built in hidden cable management trays or compartments. By the way, no need to buy an expensive tool to bundle up, just use a black bread wrapper.

I have to agree with Kendall. Don't spend too much on bundling things up, people arn't going to see it are they? I got a "Bundeler" from Wal-Mart for about 25 or so. It wraps the cable, and then cuts off the end for you. Not too bad.
