Howdy y'all(yes I'm from Texas :)
I'm finaly getting into setting up my system right, but have a few questions on hoocking things up.
I have the following stuff:
SA 2000 cable box(has RCA outputs, and AC-3 out.)
RCA VCR(VR644HF no s-video out)
Panasonic A120U DVD
Sony STR-D715 (Was a high end reciver about 4 years ago :) I am going to be upgrading it.)
and a Magnovox 25" TV(1 set of RCA inputs, no S-video).

Right now I have everything going to my Sony, and the video moniter going to my TV.
The VCR is going into the VCR1, the Cable box is going into VCR2, and the DVD is going into the LD space.

I was wondering if this was the best way to do it. Thanks for any help with this.

Hi Jeff,

For the components you have, your hook-up is fine.

As you upgrade your display and receiver to s-video/component video capability, you'll have to check the receiver's ability to be your video switcher.

Ahh, would that we were dealing with only 2 channels.

Anyway, Jeff B, when the weather gets warm have a stoop/yard/garage sale and pass on that receiver to the next life. To those thifty minded folks looking for bargains who are lucking enough not to be obsessed with having the latest and greatest of technology.
I have a Technics SA-X6 and SH-AC500D waiting til spring for such an event, not to mention a few dozen more VHS movies(having been replaced by DVDs). The joy it brings warms the heart and buys a good dinner or two.

Paul
