I am thinking of using a a single Nucleus Micro sphere as a center channel, due to its limited size and high female acceptance factor....

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Be very careful with those little Galo over priced so called speakers. We inherited a job in which the customer had a 5.1 galo system in the living room, and a 5.1 galo system in the master bedroom. All of the speakers needed re coning when we came on board, and the Yamaha reciever in the living room had also failed as a result. They are OK at limited listening levels, but are easily fried when asked for more than they can deliver (true for any speaker in a relative sense). They aren't cheap to have re coned either. Ask yourself how much air can a 3" speaker possibly move. Make sure the application is well suited or expect problems.
