My equipment is as follows:
A/V reciever Pioneer VSX-D-514
DVD Aspire Digital AD-N820B
DVD Daewoo DVG-5000N
TV RCA HDTV 52" rear projection D52W14
RBH ac 6 speakers

Right now I am having to run all equipment through the tv becouse I only have a roof antane (Sorry for the spelling) and the Pioneer is not a tv tuner. I looked into an HDTV tuner/reciever but the are pricey. I have an cable tv receiver and a dish network receiver but could not figure out how to use them for local chanels without a service provider.
I would like to use the RCA as a monitor and have all components run thru the A/V receiver. Any ideas?

You have both cable and Dish? And don't have locals from either? That seems odd. Or are you just refering to HD channels? You would have to pay more for those, although you could get them cheaper in the short run from cable since there would be no equipment to buy. Depending on what channels they offer, of course.

Anyway, if you can handle only Svideo from your DVD players, the cheapest route is to go ahead and run everything through the receiver and run your antenna straight to the TV for local HD channels, I believe it has an HD tuner. You'll have to run audio out from the TV to the receiver to get surround sound. So it will be a monitor except for locals, but that's only one digital audio wire running back to the receiver. (unless you pony up for HD from cable or Dish)

I dont have eather service just the boxes. I was trying to use them as a tuner/ receiver but without the service i dont think that will work. I think I will just do what you suggested run all thru receiver and receiver to TV component in. Then run audio out from TV to TV in on receiver.

When did you buy those boxes?

With DirecTV boxes, if you buy one but do not subscribe within, what, 30, 60, 90 days, you will be charged more than a hundred dollars! I am not sure how they would collect if you never call them to subscribe, or if you never go back where you bought them, but that is in your future. Unless these boxes have previously been subscribed and are now not.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
