Okay, let me put it a different way.

We just sold a customer a nice MX-500. When we went into the learn mode, it appeared to learn the commands from his existing TEAC CD player remote, yet it wouldn't actually operate it.

Yes, we offered a full refund, or a replacement remote that WOULD operate his CD player. No issues at all.....

Had he saved six bucks, or even twelve bucks, by purchasing online, he would have been in that rock and a hard spot place. Remote that doesn't do the job, and no GOOD warranty.

Here's an example, this is far more common than many will like to admit. Please note item #3, esp. Press release from Infocus yesterday:

"We have discovered that a large shipment of Screenplay SP4805’s was stolen in transit to a channel partner. As a result, there will likely be a quantity of these units showing up for sale on the web and by other means.

There are a variety of steps we are taking to minimize the damage:

1) Aggressively pursuing any website that publishes the product at pricing below our MAP.
2) Providing you a list of serial numbers in the event you are approached to buy units by other than authorized distributors.
3) Publishing a warning on our website reiterating our existing policy eliminating the warranty for any product sold by an unauthorized dealer.

Please contact us immediately at (800)294-6400 if you learn of any details related to the theft of these SP4805’s. We apologize for the problems caused by this unfortunate circumstance. We thank you for your continued sales and support of Screenplay products.

Sincerely,
